Brits donate over 4,000 Brewgooder beers in 48 hours for NHS heros

Over 1,000 generous Brits pledged support to the NHS in less than 48 hours - over 4,000 beers - following the launch of Brewgooder’s ‘One of Us’ campaign – a platform allowing people to donate packs of beer to health service employees.

The social enterprise craft beer company, which already donates all of its profits to clean water projects has launched a platform to donate a cost price four-pack of its beer and send a personal message of support to anyone working for the NHS during the current coronavirus pandemic.

They received over 1,000 donations in two days, with some lovely messages attached to NHS staff who are selflessly helping to battle COVID-19. One donor said “You stood up to be counted. Thank you. History will remember!” with another letting an NHS worker know that they are the inspiration and backbone of this country right now.

With a beer being a traditional ‘thank you’ in Britain, Brewgooder donated the first 50 care-packages completely free - which can be claimed now by NHS staff - and then invited its customers to sponsor additional packs for £6, which can be claimed directly by further NHS employees at a time suitable to them. The donation covers the cost price of four beers, a unique message of support, and non-contact delivery to the recipient’s address.

To redeem, NHS staff simply need to enter their work email into the platform and tell Brewgooder where to send the pack and message of support to, when they are ready to receive it. Moving forward, NHS staff will also receive a lifetime 20% discount when purchasing any Brewgooder product.

Alan Mahon, Brewgooder’s founder, said, “We are really pleased with the level of support that the campaign has received so far - a real testament to the generosity of the public who are firmly behind the NHS. Social good is the heart of who we are, and acts of social good have never been needed more than now.

“Up until now, our brand has been concentrated on funding clean water projects across the globe with any profits from our beer. While this remains our core mission, when we’re needing more support at home, we felt it was only right to do our part.”

Alongside Brewgooder, MTC Media, Cordial Fox and Ground Level Up Video Production have supported the One On Us initiative pro-bono.
