Access Hospitality reopening guide now in easy checklist

Following the successful launch of its guide to help hospitality operators get their venues operational after lockdown, Access Hospitality has released the details in an easy-to-use checklist format.

It is the latest in a series of initiatives from Access Hospitality, one of the leading technology providers in the sector, to present practical support and guidance at a time when operators are looking for as much assistance as possible.

Henry Seddon, Managing Director of Access Hospitality, commented, “We have seen a tremendous demand for our original ‘Getting Operational’ guide and know, from feedback, that it’s already helped shape many operators’ reopening plans.

'As they start to bring furloughed staff back into the business and allocate responsibilities to get venues ready for business, we believe that this checklist format will enable them to structure their reopening schedule as efficiently and safely as possible.”

The checklist is broken down into key areas including staff health and safety, financial management and cashflow, staff planning and labour optimisation, procurement, bookings, guest experience and safety, marketing and property maintenance.

It provides details of the tasks required, suggested timeframes and legal guidelines, as far as they are known, with the option to assign tasks to individuals and review progress to keep specific projects on track.

Seddon continued, “The industry is waiting for further clarity on anticipated opening dates, social distancing and other measures that will be required, so operators may only have a short time window in which to react to Government advice.

“When they have so much to think about, the Access Hospitality getting operational checklist is designed to provide them with a comprehensive planning tool to provide reassurance that they have everything covered and can be operational as quickly, safely and profitably as possible.

'Whilst it includes some practical advice on using technology to help reduce admin time by implementing procedures safely and efficiently, the information has a much wider reach and covers many different aspects of running a hospitality business.”

Since hospitality venues were forced to close their doors, Access Hospitality has also produced a guide to applying social distancing measures, offered free takeaway and delivery software, introduced vouchers through DesignMyNight and launched a parallel website – DeliverMyNight – for operators to promote takeaway and delivery options.

It has also launched a Podcast in which key operational areas are discussed with experts to provide specialist advice on activities during the remainder of lockdown and, crucially, beyond to re-establish their business with a long-term future.

The podcast can be heard at https://theaccessgrouppodcast.podomatic.com/, with the first covering property maintenance issues and future episodes topics including social distancing, all things kitchen related, strategic decisions and staffing.
