Levan to launch delivery service for Londoners

On Thursday 18 June, Levan – the London Peckham restaurant from Nicholas Balfe, Mark Gurney and Matt Bushnell – will introduce Levan To Go, a new collection and delivery service for Londoners.

Levan To Go will see Executive chef Balfe introduce a complete three course 'a la carte' at home experience comprised of simple but well executed snacks, starters, main courses and desserts. The concise seasonal menu draws from the most popular dishes from Levan’s regular menu and will continue the restaurant’s focus on contemporary European dishes matched with low-intervention and natural wines.

On the June menu are starters of Smoked cod’s roe, fennel and radish; Chicken liver parfait crostini; Marinda tomatoes, elderflower vinaigrette, basil and Burrata, courgettes, preserved lemon, mint.

For mains diners will be able to treat themselves to cult dishes such as the Levan Potato, oyster mushroom & Vacherin pie – available as a half or whole pie; Slow roast lamb with peas, broad beans and goat’s curd and Trout ‘en papiollote’ – a new dish perfect for summer evenings featuring steamed Chalk Stream Trout, confit tomato and black olives.

To finish, the team have reworked their favourite desserts such as their Tarte tatin – available as a whole or half as well as their dark chocolate pot with salted caramel and hazelnut. A DIY cheeseboard featuring seasonal French cheeses, crackers, and fruit chutney’s will also be available.

For those looking for the complete Levan experience, Director Gurney has raided the Levan cellars to create a small wine list for takeaway to pair with the menu. The list showcases affordable low intervention, organic and biodynamic wines from the Jura, Alsace and Languedoc regions in France along with selections from their favourite producers in Italy, Austria and Spain.

For those looking for something special to accompany their dinner, Gurney has also opened the Levan Wine Cellar, featuring a short list of exceptional and rare bottles which are unlikely to be found elsewhere. These wines are available in limited quantities and feature wines from cult producers such as Jean Francois Ganevat, Domaine l’Ocatavin and Phillipe Bornard.

Balfe said, ‘I’m looking forward to showcasing our favourite seasonal dishes and to be able to give our fans and regulars something to look forward to. We’ve designed the dishes to be simple but delicious – allowing our guests to relax in the comfort of their own home along with some outstanding wines chosen by Mark.

Each of the dishes on the new menu continue our commitment to sustainability, and feature seasonal, responsibly-sourced produce from our favourite local suppliers and top farms throughout the UK. In the coming weeks, as we find our feet, we hope to introduce even more Levan staples, and see this becoming a regular part of what we offer at the restaurant’.

Levan At Home launches on Thursday 18 June and will initially be available every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for collection or delivery within a 1.5 mile radius.
