Rockfish Group launches planned fish market early

With restaurant doors shut for lockdown, another door has opened. Rockfish Group has fast-tracked the launch of its planned new retail fish market in Brixham, Torbay in Devon, opening today.

The group has its own boat, Rockfisher, which is out at sea today and whenever the weather allows along the southern coast seaboard and her catch will be available to buy, as well as fish from the Brixham fish auction each day.

Click & collect is available Wednesday to Saturday and theRockfish website is updated every morning with the day’s landings.

Customers can place an online order from 7am up until 4pm, then collect the fresh fish anytime on the same day from 9am to 7pm.

The retail fish market is just 20 minutes away from the world famous Brixham fish market overlooking the fishing boats as they land their catch, which arrives with Rockfish minutes later.

Post lockdown the full shop operation will open, but for now, those in the Torbay area have just seen a great source of fresh fish added to their shopping experiences.

Restaurateur Mitch Tonks said, “It feels like going back to the very beginning of my seafood journey. We are opening our retail fish market earlier than planned in Brixham today - fresh seafood from Wednesday to Saturday.

'We buy on the market each day, portion it and make it ready for your kitchen. Head to therockfish.co.uk, see the days availability, just click, pay and collect, in total safety. We wlll be fully operational in a few weeks and I can’t wait for that.'
