Club Mexicana reopens tomorrow & launches new festive feasts & DIY taco kits

Meriel Armitage, founder of London’s much-loved Mexican-Californian inspired vegan restaurant, Club Mexicana, has announced the reopening of the Kingly Court and Seven Dials Market restaurants on Wednesday 2nd December.

Injecting the fiesta spirit into their festive proceedings, Armitage and her team will be bringing new dishes to the menus with limited edition tacos and burritos all given a Christmas twist.

From the ‘turkey’ tacos topped with deep fried Brussels sprouts and chipotle cranberry sauce to the ‘turkey’ burrito packed with stuffing, sage & onion mayo and topped with crispy shallots.

For those keeping the fiesta at home, Club Mexicana will also be launching a new range of festive feasts and DIY taco kits available for delivery nationwide as well as a New Year’s Eve taco box including everything you need to bring in 2021.

Following the successful launch of their sell-out DIY taco kits earlier this year, Club Mexicana have pulled out all the stops and created two all-new individually-priced festive boxes designed to feed up to four or six hungry people. Available throughout December, the Christmas taco kits are easy to put together and guaranteed to impress.

The ‘Xmas DIY Taco Kit’ is filled with ’turkey’ tacos loaded with deep fried Brussels sprouts, pickled cabbage, crispy shallots, sage & onion mayo and lashings of chipotle cranberry sauce, without which no Christmas would be complete.

For those wanting to go all out, the ‘Club Mex-mas Festive Feast’ consists of four courses, kicking off with the punchy Pozole Rojo, a slow cooked traditional Mexican-inspired tomato broth with four different types of dried chillis, roasted jackfruit and hominy (fermented corn), topped with radish, coriander and a squeeze of lime.

For the main event, recipients can tuck into ’turkey’ tacos and on the side come Fully Loaded Nachos topped with ground ‘beef’ made in-house using their vegan burger mince and Meriel’s top secret seasonings, cheeze sauce, sour cream, guacamole, pickled pink onions, jalapeños, coriander and a drizzle of hot sauce, designed for all to dive in and share.

To finish, there’s dark chocolate orange mousse with candied orange and edible flowers, the ultimate indulgent treat.

As thoughts turn to New Year’s Eve, diners can pre-order the decadent NYE Taco Megamix box to bring in the new year in style. Start the celebrations with a plate piled high with Fully Loaded Nachos.

To follow, recipients can expect to feast on the Taco Mega Mix featuring a medley of Club Mexicana’s classic tacos; the Al Pastor, made with homemade al pastor seitan spiked with Mexican chillis and doused in adobo sauce, accompanied by corn tortillas, caramelised pineapple and salsa verde; the BBQ Short ‘Rib’ with garlic mayo, dill pickle and slaw and the ‘Cheezeburger’ with a moreish burger sauce for dipping. For a sweet treat before the clock strikes midnight, the feast will finish with a Dark chocolate orange mousse.

Taco-lovers can also opt to upgrade each festive feast and NYE menus with boozy add-ons of two 500ml bottles of house-made cocktails: Club Mexicana’s classic Margarita or coffee-infused tequila Negroni, ideal to keep the party going!

Back at the Soho and Covent Garden restaurants, taco-fiends will once again be able to find solace and sustenance within Club Mexicana’s bright pink walls and neon signage as they welcome diners back from Wednesday 2nd December.

For those looking to take a break from braving the hordes of Christmas shoppers, Club Mexicana’s in-house festive offering awaits, alongside the full menu, featuring seasonal specials of ‘turkey’ tacos with all the trimmings and burritos bursting with Christmas stuffing and cranberry sauce. Taco Tuesdays will resume once again, featuring all you can eat tacos for £15, providing the ideal mid-week pick me up for all.
