Bubblewrap kickstarts expansion with new franchise site in Old Spitalfields Market

Instagram-famous dessert concept, Bubblewrap has added a third site to the portfolio with the launch of the first franchise site in London’s Old Spitalfields Market.

Bubblewrap has chosen East London’s Old Spitalfields Market as the location for its first pilot franchise site. The 100sq ft kiosk will be takeaway only, serving the signature customisable Bubblewrap waffle desserts. The new Spitalfields store will be the third London site for the brand, adding to Chinatown and Covent Garden, and will be home to a new and refined design concept.

The first to bring bubble waffle wraps to the UK, Bubblewrap is making headway in its goals to become a serious player in the global dessert business via the launch of a new franchise model to support the plans for international expansion.

More locations are to be announced in the near future with founder Tony Fang planning to open at least 3 new stores in the Middle East by 2024.

Tony started Bubblewrap as a university project at Imperial College in 2015, he wanted to put his creative spin on the traditional Hong Kong street food snack to remarket it to a new UK audience.

He adapted the simple HK staple by wrapping it into a cone and filling it with an assortment of homemade gelatos, in flavours including vanilla, dark chocolate, matcha, strawberry cheesecake and hazelnut, with customisable toppings and sauces.
