Central England Co-op reveal first look at new Wolverhampton store ahead of launch next week
Central England Co-op (CEC) can today give a first look at the progress of its brand new community store opening as part of the revamped Wolverhampton Railway Station next week.
The Society will officially open its new store at the Midlands transport hub on Friday, 29 July, coinciding with the Commonwealth Games and the school summer holidays to provide the thousands of people using the station every day with a major new retail offer.
Confirmed features include self-service checkouts, an instore bakery and Co-op Irresistible and Fairtrade product ranges.
It will also include an extensive food-to-go section including two Insomnia Fairtrade Coffee machines, Tango Ice Blast, F’real Milkshake and iSqueeze Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice machines, as well as hot food.
These images showcase how both the outside and inside of the store have almost been completed and is ready for thousands of products to be stacked onto the shelves ahead of the official opening.
The store’s frontage is almost complete and special eco-friendly fridges and lighting have started to be installed to back up the retailer’s eco-friendly ethos, while the kiosk area is in place ready to welcome locals and commuters.
Wolverhampton Railway Station Central England Co-op Store Manager Carl Smitheman said, “The images show that our brand new store at Wolverhampton Railway Station is almost ready to launch and we can’t wait to open the doors to the public.
“Our new store team are ready and raring to go for launch day and are looking forward to building relationships with our new customers and members and being there for them with vital food and essentials on their doorstep, as well as ensuring commuters can stop in and grab all they need for their journeys, or maybe the ingredients for their evening meals on their way home.”
The Wolverhampton Railway Station Co-operative food store will be open from 6am-10pm, Monday to Sunday. It will offer a wide range of products - fresh fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery offering breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, fresh and frozen products.
