Albert’s Schloss to open in Liverpool this December


Mission Mars' brand, Albert’s Schloss is set to open its doors on Bold Street, Liverpool on Monday 5 December, launching its food and drink offering with an alpine-inspired Winter menu, plus mouth-watering dessert kiosk ran by Gooey.

Expect indulgent European dishes throughout the day, for those wishing to start their morning early (or continue from the night before), breakfast will be available from 10am weekdays and 9am weekdays until 1pm, and the Cook Haus will be open 12 – 10pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday Service dining is available 12 – 9pm.

Say ‘guten morgen’ to a seven-day-a-week breakfast, putting a Bavarian twist on the classics. Breakfast service will include hero dishes such as the classic Cook Haus Breakfast, Goats Cheese and Courgette Fritters, and Turkish Eggs.

Diners looking for a hearty option have a choice of the haus made Schloss Breakfast Bagel, featuring soft chive omelette, haus chilli jam, gouda, coriander and pink pickled onions served on a haus-baked poppy seed bagel, The Royale featuring Yorkshire streaky bacon and round bratwurst, or The Royale Garten; slow roasted portobello mushroom and smashed avocado.

The in-haus bakery will create daily changing baked goods including artisan pastries, cruffins, cinnamon buns, pretzels and haus breads. Baked goods will be available to enjoy inside Schloss, on the go or to take home.

For those with a sweeter tooth, Gooey, the insta-famous dessert company who have already enjoyed major success at their kiosks in Manchester, will open a kiosk inside Albert’s Schloss Liverpool, making it the city’s first. Made from scratch daily, guests can expect warm, gooey cookies and sugar-coated stuffed brioche donuts, with a mixture of classics, crowd-pleasers and ever-changing specials on the menu.

Retreat to the Schloss Cook Haus, where you can warm yourself with hearty dishes inspired the team’s travels across Europe throughout the day. Indulge in alpine dishes including such as Schweinshaxe and Coquille Pretzel Pie. Schloss Klassics also include crispy Stiegl bier-battered Fish and Chips, Baron Burger and Paprikash Chicken.

To start diners can try the likes of Paprika Prawns; crispy coated bier battered prawns with paprikash and Frankfurt sauce, Kreuzberg chicken lollipops, French onion soup served in a haus-baked sourdough bowl or beetroot and goats cheese tarte.

There will also be a range of bratwursts on offer, including a classic bratwurst with smoked pork and haus mustard, Kaiserwurst with smoked pork and cheddar, or a vegan wurst with haus mustard. All available with a haus-baked bun and fries or Bier Halle style with Bavarian potatoes, seasonal salat, sauerkraut and mustard. You can also devour a Currywurst plate with two classic bratwurst, crispy onions, curry ketchup sauce, fries.

Not for the feint hearted, the Bavarian Feast offers meat lovers in groups of up to four the opportunity to indulge in roast pork knuckle, chicken schnitzel, bratwurst, kaiserwurst, chilliwurst, bier chilli ribs and sides of sformato, braised red cabbage, bier jus, sauerkraut and haus pickles.

Other items on the menu include Fondue; with melted gruyere, Emmental and white wine served with haus-pickles, sourdough and new potatoes, mushroom spatzle, and three kebabs; lamb kofta, chilli vegetables or pil pil prawn.

Sunday Service is a must try, with a delicious set menu of two or three courses available every week.

Choose from roast sirloin of Lancashire beef, Paillard of Cheshire chicken, Schweinshaxe or vegan mushroom wellington, served with all the trimmings; maple-glazed roast root vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, seasonal greens and lashings of proper gravy.

Sides such as sformato; melting mash with alpine cheese and truffle, schweins in blankets, cauliflower cheese and charred tenderstem broccoli are also available to tempt your fancy.

The drinks offering includes a wide selection of alpine wines, classic and sparkling wines, spirits, and European biers and ciders served from the Bier Palace including; Pilsner Urquell the world’s first Pilsner which is fresh, unpasteurised and delivered direct from the brewery in Pilzen every week. Other heroes include Paulaner Munich, Krombacher Pils, Erdinger Weissbräu and Schöfferhofer.
