Jamies Wine Bar and Restaurant to open in West End

Kornicis Group, the London-based bar firm led by Nick Tamblyn, has acquired the former La Tasca site on St Martins Lane for what will be the groups first site in London’s West End. Branded as a Jamies Wine Bar and Restaurant, the 150-cover site will boost a private dining room and a large bar area. It will be the 11th site under the Jamies brand, of which the majority of sites are located in the City and is set to open at the end of this month.

Designed in the same way as the other Jamies sites, the new bar and restaurant will serve a range of British classics including signature dishes such as the Jamies classic homemade beefburger along with daily specials in the restaurant and a selection of sharing party platters and small plates in the bar.

Kornicis’ chief executive Nick Tamblyn claims this is the group’s ‘biggest acquisition yet’. This year Kornicis plan to expand the Jamies brand further with another four to five sites expected to open. The new sites are expected to be situated in the City of London as well as the West End, Covent Garden and Soho. Major refurbishments are also scheduled for 2013 including the re-development of a large unit next to London Bridge and The Shard.
