Hotel group, Britannia Hotels has secured its second Scottish site after acquiring The Waterside Inn in Peterhead, taking the size of its portfolio to 43. The hotel joins the group’s first hotel in Scotland, the 144-bedroom Britannia Hotel Aberdeen
The 105-room Waterside Inn is located in the north of Peterhead — some 35 miles from Aberdeen. It has extensive conference and leisure facilities and hosts a leisure club, encompassing a swimming pool, spa, steam room and gym, which enjoy good non-hotel-guest membership. It was sold by Matrix Investors and was previously branded as a Swallow hotel.
Britannia Hotels acquired The Waterside Inn in an unencumbered freehold sale off an asking price of £2.25 million brokered by agent Christie + Co.
