Sticks’n’Sushi to open second London restaurant

Danish-owned Japanese restaurant chain Sticks’n’Sushi is to open a second restaurant in London in Covent Garden after securing a site which it hopes to open before Autumn 2013.

After just a year of claiming high success and critical acclaim, the group is to take over the Walkabout site on Henrietta Street, a two-floor restaurant serving around 150 diners and an open sushi kitchen to show the chefs at work. The menu will offer the brand’s trademark yakitori and freshly made-to-order sushi including sashimi, carpaccio, nigiri, kaburimaki (topped rolls). There will also be a coctail bar and a strong Danish design throughout- similar to the Wimbledon site.

Sticks’n’Sushi was founded in Denmark 18 years ago by brother Jens and Kim Rahbek and Thor Andersen and they now operate 10 restaurants. Their site in Wimbledon opened early last year and the company now plans to expand their brand across the capital, already looking at potential further sites.
