Adam Byatt to open second Bistro Union site

Adam Byatt, the man behind Clapham restaurants Trinity and Bistro Union, has announced he is in the final stages to secure a second London site for his Bistro Union concept.

Byatt, chef-owner of both sites, opened the first Bistro Union in February last year on Abbeville Road, which is subsequently just a short walk from Trinity. Bistro Union is a 40-cover neighborhood British restaurant offering traditional dishes such as steak, toad in the hole, sausages and mash, fish pie etc. It is hoped the new Bistro Union will open in the Spring of 2014 as well as two or three additional sites in the same area which Byatt is yet to secure.

Byatt’s original site Trinity, opened in 2006 and remains the chef’s fine-dining restaurant offering and specialising in seasonal tasting menus.

Earlier this year, Byatt also gave his financial backing to ex-Noma chef Tom Sellers who opened Story restaurant in Bermondsey. The restaurateur revealed he was planning to back another young chef next year and said his role was about giving Sellers support.
