Gretna retail complex begins expansion work

Work has begun at Gretna Gateway in southern Scotland to further expand its outlet village creating around 50 jobs.

The latest expansion is under way with its 'anchor tenant', Next Outlet, which is expected to open next summer.

This is the third phase of development at the retail village which currently employs around 400 people across the current stores and cafes, including Costa Coffee, Subway and Cafe Thorntons.

Gretna Gateway's General Manager, Peter Gardner said the outlet village was a 'real success story' and its growth had consistently outperformed the rest of the UK.
