Surrey Cash & Carry wins top accolade at inaugural awards

Elbrook Cash & Carry in Mitcham, Surrey, has won the Best Cash and Carry Award, at the Asian Food & Restaurant Awards (AFRA) at the Montcalm hotel.

Elbrook Cash & Carry, which is headed up by Frank Khalid (pictured), was founded in 1984, and joined the Today’s buying group in 2010. The year-on-year growth in the business has put Elbrook Cash & Carry as one of the top wholesalers in the industry which supplies over ten thousands businesses over the UK.

Elbrook's sister business, Chak89 also celebrated as it clinched the Best Restaurant in South London award.

In its first annual event, AFRA recognises the achievements and positive contribution being made by South Asians across the UK food industry. Each business has a great story they tell through their service and products that should be applauded.

The Awards aim to celebrate these special stories as well as honour the dedication and commitment of those who have spread their love for Asian flavours through their passion to take the culture mainstream.
