Historic Stockport Market Place site to be transformed into food hall

Medlock has begun work within Stockport’s historic Market Place. The Grade II-listed Produce Hall is to be transformed into a food hall, offering guests an array of food and drink options.

The building will be thoroughly stripped back before commencing with the interior fit-out. A new bespoke feature staircase will be installed allowing access to the mezzanine level. There will also be a new terrace area to the front of the building for around 30-covers.

Once complete, the interior will showcase a blend of old and new, retaining the buildings original character with large windows and original stonework.

There will be space for up to eight independent kitchens and bars, with a rotating line-up of pop-ups and street food vendors.

The venue will offer seating for up to 150 people within the hall and mezzanine level.

Over 50 independent businesses selling everything from beer to buttons offer a great shopping experience four days a week at Stockport Market.

Operating from its three indoor Market Halls around the Market Place, Stockport Market is open every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
