French brasserie to open second London site

French brasserie Patron Cave à Manger in London's Kentish Town is set to open a second eatery in Highbury & Islington in March.

The new brasserie will be taking over site which was formerly home to Butler & Booth cafe on the corner of Blackstock and Gillespie Road.

The company launched its first site in 2015 and garnered praise from local foodies and critics alike for the French wine and brasserie-style menu.

Patron Cave à Manger Highbury will continue the theme as a Parisian-style corner bistro serving classic, honest, comfort French food, and use time-honoured traditional ways of cooking.

The new restaurant will use high quality ingredients from local sustainable sources, and a small group of French suppliers.

For brunch, there are Croque Monsieur, Truffle Omelette, and Tartiflette Toastie - made with reblochon cheese, potatoes, shallot, lardon & cream.

Dinner dishes include classics such as Beef Bourguignon, Duck Confit, Onglet Steak, with sides of Potato Gratin, Carrots Vichy and French-style Lentils, followed by Creme Brulee, Chocolate Mousse.

For beverages, the Highbury brasserie will offer organic, natural and fine wine, as well as a range of boutique cocktails - including Cucumber Spritz and Mimosa for brunch, and French Martini - vodka, raspberry liquor, pineapple juice, and French 75 - gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, prosecco for dinner.

There will be the brand's signature marble counter where diners can be served directly by the chef or they can book a seat at one of the Parisian booths.

The company stated, 'We are very excited to be joining the small independent shops and local business owners in the vibrant heart of Blackstock Road.'
