Samworth Brothers acquires Urban Eats on10th birthday

Samworth Brothers has acquired the Urban Eats brand, which is celebrating a decade of producing top lunchtime foods.

Formally owned by Adelie Foods, which fell into administration in June, Urban Eats has built a broad customer base over the last 10 years thanks to its innovative flavours, bold branding, and widespread appeal.

It is now part of Samworth Brothers Fresh Food for Now offer, which manufactures and supplies market-leading names in food-to-go, such as Ginsters and Soreen, to the independent, convenience, contract caterer and food service channels.

The current range available through Fresh Food For Now comprises Urban Eat’s most popular sandwiches and wraps, in addition to its highly popular meat-free portfolio ‘Roots’.

The brand has also reinstated a selection of hot eats including paninis and toasties. Lifestyle products including light choice and gluten free have also returned.
