Carluccio’s set to launch second new concept with Sainsbury

Italian restaurant group, Carluccio’s is launching a new concept site with Sainsbury's in Leamington Spa on 24 June.

The launch of the Counter follows the opening of Caffè Carluccio’s in St Albans earlier this month and is part of a wider trial between Sainsbury’s and Carluccio’s – a third concept will open in Selly Oak, Birmingham next month.

The Carluccio’s Counter is opening in the Sainsbury’s superstore at Shires Retail Park. Carluccio’s has reimagined the supermarket deli so customers can enjoy its signature Italian dishes and artisan produce more easily for home.

On offer is an array of the brand’s signature store cupboard ingredients, impeccably sourced from the length and breadth of Italy. Specialist items include Puglian penne regine and orecchiette durum wheat pastas, spreadable nduja salami from Calabria, and riso Carnaroli risotto rice, sourced from the Po Valley in Northern Italy.

There’s also an extensive range of extra virgin olive oils, including Evoo, Due Sorelle from Sardinia and Olio al Limone, a zesty lemon oil exclusive to Carluccio’s as well as handmade chocolate truffles, grissini and torcetti biscuits.

No Carluccio’s offering would be complete without coffee and the Counter offers two bespoke Italian blends, ground and beans.

Also available is a range of freshly made dishes perfect for a take-away lunch or family meal at home.

Handcrafted pasta bakes and rotisserie chicken sit alongside 12” hand stretched, stone-baked Neapolitan pizzas made fresh to order and available ready to eat, cold or as an at home kit. Customers can choose from toppings such as prosciutto e fungi, Italian salami, chicken picante or build your own.

The range will also be available to order for delivery via Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.
