JJ Foodservice wins three school contracts worth £3.5m

JJ Foodservice has been awarded contracts to supply Barnsley, Bolton and Bradford Council schools in deals totalling more than £3.5m.

The wholesaler is already working with Kirklees and Leeds Councils bringing the number of schools being supported in North England to more than 650. JJ Foodservice supplies schools with thousands of fresh, chilled, ambient and frozen goods including packaging products, 75% of which are fully compostable.

Baris Kacar, chief sales officer at JJ Foodservice, noted, “Our fuel-efficient fleet and digitalised ordering process will help to offer schools nutritious options while helping to reduce their carbon footprint. We are on a journey to do business the right way. We hope we can help schools to achieve their sustainability targets in the process.

“Prisons, hospitals and other public sector institutions all need access to high quality, affordable and reliable food suppliers. We are well positioned to help and look forward to supporting more caterers across the UK.”

JJ Foodservice plans to install solar panels across every UK branch by the end of the year and is working with an increasing number of local suppliers.

Following its triple win, JJ Foodservice is targeting more public sector contracts with a new recruitment push for dedicated Public Sector, Education Catering and Prison Catering sales roles.
