Hawksmoor is planning further expansion in the UK and US, with several new openings under consideration for 2026 and beyond.
The steakhouse group currently operates 10 restaurants in the UK — seven of them in London — alongside sites in New York, Chicago, and Dublin. For the year ending 31 December 2024, Hawksmoor reported turnover of £100.4m.
This represents an 11.8% increase on the £89.8m reported the previous year, driven by sustained growth in like-for-like sales, with all restaurants said to be “trading at record levels of sales and profitability.”
Underlying EBITDA rose 7.6% to £9.9m (2023: £9.2m), after adjusting for initial losses associated with the launch of the Chicago restaurant.
However, the group moved from a pre-tax profit of £1.5m to a pre-tax loss of £1.7m during the period.
In the company’s report, Hawksmoor CFO Alex McLauchlan noted that the key changes on the balance sheet were linked to fixed asset additions of £7.79m — largely attributable to the Chicago opening — as well as a shift in external bank debt following a refinancing completed in June 2024.
McLauchlan said: “The group has built an industry-leading brand, with highly profitable sites, strong cash generation and an excellent reputation with customers and staff, which the directors believe will position it for success.”
