Manchester brewer JW Lees reveals record turnover of £64m


JW Lees remains focussed on becoming a £100m turnover company by 2020 after it announcing record results.

During its annual conference at the Bridgewater Hall, the family brewer announced sales of £64m in the financial year ending March 31, 2015. Bosses said the landmark figure was achieved principally by acquiring and developing new pubs.

JW Lees will now pay more than 400 staff from a profit share pot of £440,942. It means each team member will receive an average pay-out of just over £1,000.

William Lees-Jones, managing director was joined at the conference by Dr Steve Bull, Team GB psychologist. The author of ‘The Game Plan’ spoke to the audience about mental toughness and creating a winning mentality.

Lees-Jones said JW Lees remains the leading family brewer in the north west, despite a challenging market.

'We are committed to growing the business towards our next landmark target of £100m sales by 2020, principally by acquiring and developing new pubs,' he said.

'JW Lees has had another record-breaking year and I would like to thank everyone in our team for their hard work and commitment that has made this happen.

'We are delivering on our business plan and it is a true privilege to be leading the team as we continue to grow our business’.
