Young's Seafood has confirmed plans to shed 650 jobs at its two seafood facilities in Fraserburgh and Grantown on Spey.
The company started a consultation on the possible closure of its Fraserburgh plant and Grantown-on-Spey smokehouse after the loss of a £100million contract with Sainsbury's earlier this year.
Management have now decided both sites will remain open but the workforce will be reduced from 900 to around 250.
