Hampton Court Palace, one of six venues cared for by charity Historic Royal Palaces, has just launched its new events space, the 20th Century Garden, with a festival-themed party.
Following the installation of a bridge over the canal that separates the 20th Century Garden from the East Front of the palace, the secret garden is now available for a diverse range of daytime and evening events for up to 600 people.
Hampton Court Palace welcomed 150 guests to the Hidden Garden Festival, which not only celebrated the 20th Century Garden, but the additional marquee sites at the palace.
Blue Strawberry provided a festival-inspired menu with a selection of canapés, mini meals, BBQ station and ‘Life’s a Beach’ dessert station. Dishes included pan roast duck breast, beetroot puree, pickled beetroot, pickled onion & pomegranate gel; BBQ sweet corn cakes with chilli, haloumi & coriander salsa; and Madagascan vanilla cheesecake with blueberry waves.
Jo Jennings, Events Manager at Hampton Court Palace, said “We are excited to launch our newest event space, the 20th Century Garden, which can be used for events such as corporate summer parties, team away days, gala dinners and private celebrations. We also used the evening to highlight the unique marquee sites we have available for outdoor events.
“We experienced a huge increase in summer party and large scale event enquiries last year, and are delighted that we now have the 20th Century Garden available for clients to hire. We look forward to hosting some fantastic events here which will contribute directly to our charitable cause.”
