Odeon to open in Oldham & Nortwich

Odeon has confirmed plans to open new cinemas at Oldham and Northwich later this year.

A multiplex offering 789 seats across seven screens will launch as part of the £28m Old Town Hall redevelopment (pictured) in Oldham. The cinema, which is creating 40 jobs, will be one of only three in the UK to include an Odeon-exclusive ISENSE screen featuring Dolby ATMOS sound.

At the same time, Odeon has outlined plans for a new cinema in Northwich.

This will raise the total number of Odeon cinemas in the North West to 15.

Duncan Reynolds, managing director at Odeon UK and Ireland, said: 'We are delighted about the opening of Odeon Oldham and look forward to sharing our passion for cinema with the local community.'

Jean Stretton, Oldham Council leader, said: 'The new Odeon cinema will be a fantastic anchor tenant at the Old Town Hall. This development is central to our regeneration of Oldham town centre and we are excited to welcome Odeon to here to bolster our strong list of quality, well-known and trusted brands.'
