DW Sports group, owned by former JJB Sports owner, Dave Whelan, has sealed the acquisition of Fitness First UK in a deal that is worth an estimated £70m.
The company, which operates 78 DW Fitness sites, is purchasing the Fitness First brand and 62 outlets, which are situated across London and the southeast.
DW Sports will retain the Fitness First brand and 48 of the sites. It has exchanged contracts to sell the other 14 sites that the firm doesn't want, with four going to the Gym Group.
