French firm now offers edible insects in UK

Formed in Paris, Jimini's is now offering a range of insect-based snacks and ingredients in the UK.

The company currently offers four healthy protein bars, seasoned insects for snacking, and insects to use in cooking.

Co-founders of Jimini’s, Bastien Rabasten and Clément Scellier has made it their mission to integrate insects into the diets of Europeans, as well as educate and inform shoppers of this sustainable and tasty alternative source of protein.

The global population is due to rise to over 9 billion by 2050 and this combined with increasing demand for animal protein, calls for alternative, sustainable forms of protein, such as insects.

Jimini’s edible insects contain high quality protein and calcium with levels comparable to beef and milk. Its ground cricket flour, which is the base of their protein bars, contains 63% protein, more iron than spinach and more calcium than milk.
