Loughview Leisure Group is embarking on an extensive refurbishment project which will see significant investment being made across its portfolio of hotels in the greater Belfast area.
Christopher Kearney, finance director, outlines the company’s plans, 'This year is going to be an exciting year for our company as we work to finalise renovation works across several of our properties. In total we will be investing £18m with the support of Ulster Bank, creating more than 40 new jobs and adding to the existing 250 jobs currently within the group.
'The group's focus is on improving the experience of our customers and we have worked closely with architects Coogan & Co on each of our premises to achieve this.'
Chimney Corner is a 62 bed hotel located just 15 minutes from Belfast City Centre and 15 minutes from Belfast International airport. The venue has been expanded to include new rooms, a new reception and an upgraded façade, spending over £1m. The hotel features a bar, Rafters restaurant and conference and wedding facilities.
Loughview Leisure also operates the Loughshore Hotel (pictured), a 68 bedroom property situated just 15 minutes from Belfast city centre, which has recently opened Northern Ireland’s largest and most modern indoor play and party centre. World of Wonder offers four unique family friendly zones in a world class venue. This diversification alone saw an investment of £1m.
The hotel provides conferencing and meeting facilities with a capacity for up to 600 theatre style and a dedicated executive boardroom seating 126 delegates. A total of eight meeting rooms of varying sizes and layouts are also available to suit all requirements. Jospers restaurant in the hotel serves dishes from Europe and Asia throughout the day. A bar, fitness facilities and a hair and beauty salon are also available at the hotel.
Loughshore Hotel fronts a major mixed use development which will include large scale industrial and small business holdings, retail units, 175 houses and a residential assisted living scheme.
