Family-owned Catalunyan restaurant bar and deli, Lunya has opened a new 5,500 sq ft restaurant at the Grosvenor Europe-owned shopping complex, Liverpool ONE.
The multi-award winning independent brand has opened a new 5,500 sq ft restaurant, which is located on the corner of College Lane and Hanover Street.
Following a £200k investment by founders Elaine and Peter Kinsella, the new site has enabled the business to expand its shop front and combine the dining area, bar and deli into one open plan space. In the first three days of opening, Lunya reported that trade grew by 40% year-on-year.
The restaurant, designed by DifferentStudio, retains a relaxed, traditional and informal setting. The new, larger deli stocks a wider range of the high quality artisan produce from Spain that Lunya has become known for. They have also been able to provide the UK’s largest range of Spanish beers with a bigger bar.
The increased space and additional facilities will also enable Lunya to grow the number and size of its regular events, which range from wine and food tasting evenings to gin experiences.

Lunya is a significant addition to Liverpool ONE’s Hanover Street, which has become established as one of the most exciting dining destinations in the North West and is currently experiencing an uplift in restaurant sales. Consumers are increasingly visiting Liverpool ONE for a day-out experience that combines shopping with leisure and socialising.
This news coincides with the recent opening of the UK’s first Nespresso Concept Boutique on Peters Lane. The new store offers an immersive experience including bespoke and interactive classes for coffee connoisseurs.
