London’s latest rooftop destination, Savage Garden has launched offering jaw-dropping views on the 12th floor, dramatic cocktails and inventive menus.
Located atop the DoubleTree by Hilton London – Tower of London, Savage Garden demands attention with its floor-to-ceiling windows affording uninterrupted views of the London skyline.
Cocktails have been developed by Gorgeous Group and are delivered by Head of Mixology André Cavalheiro. Creative concoctions include the sinister Evil Eye, a twisted take on a Negroni using tequila, vermouth, Luxardo Bitter Bianco and Jägermeister, finished off with a green ‘eye ball’.
For those with a taste for the wicked, the Devil’s Advocate is a devilish, fiery twist on an El Diablo with tequila, grapefruit juice, crème de cassis, lemon and sugar, finished with a drop of ‘Savage Hot Stuff’ and two chilli ‘horns’.
The Punk Rock Fashioned – arguably the Vivienne Westwood of cocktails – is a whisky-based mix laced with hints of cherry, chocolate and mint, and served in black glass encrusted with glowing rose sugar.
For fizz with a bit of extra flair, the Savage Spritz is mixed with Plymouth Sloe Gin, Chartreuse, red vineyard peach & hops bitters and finished with a splash of Ayala Champagne. Those in need of a pick-me-up should look no further than the Lespresso, a confusingly clear coffee cocktail that packs a punch but still saves on calories.
Alongside the extensive cocktail menu that also includes zero proof creations and all the classics, Savage Garden offers an extensive wine and champagne list as well as a wide selection of premium spirits and beers.
The menu at Savage Garden features unexpected flavour combinations and theatrical serves - from pink buns through to squid sticks mounted on pineapples and the barbarous pork tomahawks.
Small wonders ideal to share include charred octopus with fennel, orange chermoula and toasted kasha; roasted cauliflower with labne, zhoug, chilli roasted ancient grains and craisins®; or blackened sesame prawn toast with bacon jam, whilst more substantial dishes come in the form of a pork tomahawk with black pudding fries and salsa verde or a whole baked seabass.
Positively Palaeolithic platters take the hunter/gatherer approach of our ancient ancestors with a sharing carnivorous board featuring coconut beef short ribs, beef sliders and roasted poussin accompanied by fries with black mayo and savageslaw.
Herbivores and pescatarians can also take the feasting route with boards laden with the likes of charred radishes with firecracker dressing, plantain chips with avocado hummus and tempura oysters.
Desserts include injectable doughnuts and ice lollies in double chocolate, rum & raisin and summer fruits flavours.
Savage Garden also boasts two terraces with stunning 360-degree vistas that take in some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks including The Shard, Tower of London, The Gherkin and St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Wildside is an expansive all-weather terrace and events space complete with a retractable roof making it perfect for al fresco cocktail parties as well as indoor corporate events or Christmas festivities. In addition to Wildside, Ferus is the private dining space, perfect for more intimate, private affairs with a capacity of 57.
Facing south is Savage Garden’s stunning, suntrap Beefeater Pink South Terrace. Pretty in pink with banquette seating and plenty of planters, this is the spot for soaking up the enchanting views whilst enjoying a tipple or two.
