Biggest restaurant in Liverpool to be Chinese

Grosvenor Developments has let 22,000sq ft of space to Chinese restaurant operator Tai Pan in its leisure block on the edge of Liverpool ONE, which contains a new Premier Inn. Tai Pan will trade from the largest restaurant in Liverpool under the Tai Wu brand, following its recent success at their Manchester site.

Ironically the site Tai Pan has taken in Liverpool is the same location of the first ever Chinese restaurant in Liverpool- The Phoenix- which was housed in the former NCP multi-storey which Grosvenor demolished in 2009.

The leisure building, called the Beat, comprises seven new retail and leisure units totalling 34,000 sq ft. The development also accommodates a 198-bed Premier Inn sitting above the retail and leisure space.

There is still 12,000sq ft of space left within the building which is believed to be for a café and a retail unit facing Hanover Street, as well as three further restaurants.

The new Tai Pan restaurant is expected to be open by summer 2013.
