Global supplier, Chaucer Foods is investing £1.5m in new machinery for its factory in Hull, as part of a Humber LEP programme that will create up to 50 jobs.
The company is buying in equipment to manufacture a bread-based snack for the European retail market.
Finance director, Jeff Kipling said, 'We’re pleased to be able to increase our capacity and capability at our base in Hull, allowing us to employ more people through expansion.'
The business, which operates manufacturing sites in the UK, France and China, also confirmed a £100k trade deal to supply 60 tonnes of croutons a year to India. Chaucer sells its products in over 30 countries across all continents.
