    Tate & Lyle Sells Sugar Business For £200m


    Food manufacturers, Tate & Lyle closes a chapter on 130 years in the sugar trade as it sells its European refining business to American Sugar Refining for around £200m. The company wants to focus on food ingredients which tends to fluctuate less than the sugar sector. Tate & Lyle made £14m profit in the year to 31 March against sales of £689m.
