The Stable has just opened its eighth outlet situated on Plymouth’s bustling Barbican waterfront, its first in Devon, creating 20 jobs.
The menu offers over 80 varieties of cider and sourdough base pizza with homemade tomato sauce and locally sourced toppings.
Dishes include: The Blazing Saddle - slow roasted pulled beef, smoked bacon, caramelised onion, grilled red pepper & mozzarella topped with sour cream & jalapeño chillies; and The Sir Francis Drake - herb roasted potato, Ticklemore Devon blue cheese, roasted Spanish onions, English spinach, fresh tomato sauce & mozzarella.
The Stable is the brainchild of Richard and Nikki Cooper, and Richard’s brother Andy Briggs. The concept started life when the Coopers bought The Bull Hotel in Bridport and decided to convert an old stable adjacent to the property into a pizza and cider restaurant.
Their ethos remains unchanged – a commitment to the best quality, local ingredients, interesting and unusual topping combinations and a range of ciders. Following the success of that first restaurant, the group have since opened in Bath, Bristol, Newquay, Falmouth, Weymouth and Pool
