New Malmaison hotel set for Aberdeeen


Malmaison is planning to set up a new 255-bedroom boutique hotel at Schoolhill in Aberdeen, with the creation of up to 100 jobs.

The hotel will include business meeting rooms, a medium sized gym, function suites, a restaurant and a bar.

The property was the Robert Gordon University student union and was built in the late 19th century and designed by local architect Alexander Marshall Mackenzie, receiving a category B listing in 1977.

A spokesman for the group said: “The proposal will look to create as many as 100 new local jobs, furthermore the range of uses within the proposed scheme will create varied employment opportunities.
