Ayrshire outdoor pool set to be transformed into key visitor attraction

Ayrshire’s last surviving outdoor swimming pool in New Cumnock is set to be transformed into a major visitor attraction.

Prince Charles and his foundation, The Great Steward of Dumfries House Trust, has submitted the plans to East Ayrshire Council for approval.

The 1960’s pool will be turned into an art deco lido and a new square will emerge after an old library is flattened. Also, a new hub building will be created to house a gym and tearoom.

The plan by the Prince’s foundation follows a bid to restore the nearby town hall.
