Independent South London pub group, Livelyhood has acquired Clapham South’s Gigalum site and plans to transform it into a brand new neighbourhood pub for Spring 2019.
Livelyhood will close the late-night DJ bar in early January for a complete refurbishment, reopening as The Perky Nel neighbourhood pub in February.
Just minutes from Clapham South tube station, and overlooking the Common, the pub group’s latest opening will embrace traditional values with a modern attitude. Enjoy a large 100 cover bar and dining space and impressive front garden terrace serving satisfying British food and drink from local suppliers and producers.
Live entertainment will be part of the package with Livelyhood’s signature dedicated sports area featuring giant screens showing all the latest games plus all the special event trimmings, from pub quizzes to seasonal parties.
The Perky Nel will be the second Clapham location for Livelyhood, joining sister venue The Clapham North which underwent a large refurbishment last year. The Livelyhood family also includes: The Regent (Balham), The Old Frizzle (Wimbledon), The Mere Scribbler (Streatham) and The Faber Fox (Crystal Palace).
