Travelodge, the UK’s first budget hotel chain, is opening six hotels in the lead up to Christmas. This equates to an average of one hotel opening every 12 days.
These six hotels represent an appropriate investment value of £45m for third party investors and will create 135 new jobs. They will also boost the company’s portfolio to 595 hotels in the UK, Ireland and Spain. This includes over 44,500 rooms which include over 1,800 SuperRooms.
The six Travelodge hotels opening over the next 12 weeks includes one Travelodge Plus hotel, two hotels featuring SuperRooms, three new towns getting their first Travelodge and four hotels with an on-site restaurant called the Bar Café.
The new hotels are as follows:
Chippenham Travelodge - the third hotel in Chippenham for the brand and this opening also marks Travelodge becoming the town’s largest budget hotelier. The hotel is located in the town centre close to the railway station.
Rochester Travelodge the chain’s first hotel in Rochester is located in the town centre by the railway station and a few minutes walk to Rochester cathedral and castle.
London - Dagenham Travelodge & Beckton Travelodge - these two additions will boost the company’s portfolio in London to 77. The new Dagenham Travelodge is the company’s second hotel in the area; it opened its first Dagenham hotel in 2018.
Travelodge's first hotel in Beckton will feature SuperRooms – the company’s ‘premium economy’ room-type, featuring Lavazza coffee machines, irons and ironing boards, USB power outlets and a more comfortable desk and desk chair and a mini-chiller cabinet.
Edinburgh Park Travelodge Plus - this is the first new build Travelodge Plus hotel in Scotland. It's the company’s 46th hotel in Scotland and 11th in Edinburgh and second Travelodge Plus hotel in the city.
Travelodge Plus is the company’s ‘budget chic’ hotel format, featuring new look standard rooms, SuperRooms and a new look restaurant. It is designed around the needs of the budget traveller who wants that little bit more style and choice with little touches to make it easier to work and relax both inside and outside the room.
The hotel is located in the Edinburgh Park Business Park, home to the headquarters of Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds and NHS. It's also close to the Edinburgh Park Railway station and the airport.
Sittingbourne - Travelodge's first hotel in Sittingbourne is located in the heart of the town centre and directly opposite the train station.
