Tim Hortons plans 25 new drive-thrus in Northern Ireland

SK Group's Tim Hortons is planning to build at least 25 new drive-thru coffee outlets across Northern Ireland over the next two years.

The company, which launched in the region in May 2018, currently has three branches, and has submitted a planning application for a new £400k-plus drive-thru in Portadown.

The Canadian coffee chain is already going ahead with plans for a similar drive-thru development in Coleraine at the Riverside Retail Park.

The expansion plans will put Tim Horton's on a par with Starbucks, which operates 24 coffee shops. However, Caffe Nero still has the largest coffee shop presence with 30 sites.
