Wilson Vale chef cooks to support the NHS

Jade Douglas, a sous chef who works for independent catering company, Wilson Vale, is running a raffle to raise £5k for the NHS.

Douglas, who lives in Allesley, Coventry, and is currently off work under the Government’s furlough scheme, is offering a personal prize of a three-course meal for two, which she will cook for the winner in her home or in the comfort of their own home once the current lockdown restrictions have been lifted and it is safe to do so.

Douglas said, “The NHS is working extremely hard and I've been racking my brains trying to think of how I could help them. I came up with running an NHS fundraiser raffle. Having spoken with several nurses, they suggested that the funds raised could be used to purchase iPads to help patients in hospital to communicate with their loved ones.

“I am usually working within the hospitality industry as a chef so I am delighted to be able to use my craft skills to raise money to support the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

There will be 500 numbers available and each ticket is £10. The winner will receive a 3- course dinner of their choice for two people, cooked and served by Jade. The lucky winner will also receive two pieces of NHS-themed artwork created by Lorraine Douglas, Douglas’ mum.

The raffle closes on the 30 April. Tickets and donations are via her Just Giving page under Jade Douglas: https://bit.ly/2KgCrR1

She has also set up an Instagram page @feedyourcravingswithjade and is asking anyone who donates to the fund to private message her on the page to receive their prize draw number.
