Lidl to delay store opening time for staff if England wins

Lidl GB is announcing changes to opening hours in English stores on Monday 12 July, delaying store opening times to allow staff an additional hour to kick back and relax in the morning if England brings it home on Sunday evening.

Shoppers and staff alike are likely to appreciate a Lidl extra time first thing. The opening times of each Lidl store across the country are changing on Monday, postponing opening by an hour to offer staff (and shoppers!) a later start to the day.

Shoppers will still have every opportunity to continue to score quality products at market leading value throughout the rest of Monday, and opening hours will return to normal from Tuesday 13 July.

Christian Härtnagel, CEO at Lidl GB, commented, “Sunday’s final marks a huge occasion in history so, if England are victorious, we have decided to delay our stores opening by one hour.

'At Lidl, the reason for our success is our people and our team work, which is why we want our teams to be able to celebrate for a little longer if the England team bring it home.”
