Every lovable rogue in London's Elephant & Castle will have a new pub to call their local next year, with South London pub group Livelyhood set to open The Rosy Hue on the corner of the new 2-acre park within the Elephant Park regeneration in February 2022.
Inspired by the 19th century Penny Gaffs the area was once known for, the pub takes its name from the rosy cheeks of those who frequented there. Like these beloved theatres and dancing halls, the 3,100sq ft and 150-cover venue is set to make a dramatic entrance and will be a popular addition to the neighbourhood.
Embracing Livelyhood’s signature passion for reclamation and restoration, the newly-built pub will ooze with authentic character and charm. The area at the front will have plenty of places to sit and enjoy bottomless brunches and boozy dinners.
Behind the arch, things will get a bit livelier, with plenty of screens to show the sport, live music every Friday and Saturday, and a quiz night every Sunday for anyone still standing.
There’s also a heated covered terrace with space for another 54 covers. As with all Livelyhood pubs, dogs and their humans are welcome throughout.
The new opening will bring the South London pub group’s portfolio to eight, with The Rosy Hue joining the Clapham North and The Perky Nel in Clapham, The Regent in Balham, The Faber Fox in Wimbledon, The Old Frizzle in Wimbledon, The Mere Scribbler in Streatham and The Artful Duke, which opens in Bromley this month.
