Return of Langans Brasserie set for mid-October

Mayfair's historic dining spot, Langan’s Brasserie is set for its hotly anticipated reopening in mid-October.

With acclaimed duo, Graziano Arricale and James Hitchen at the helm, their mission is to bring all of the elegance and eccentricity of the original Brasserie back to the forefront of London culture. It opened in 1976 as a joint venture between actor Michael Caine and the legendary restaurateur Peter Langan.

Reimagined for a new generation by Peter Mikic (Vogue once called the London-based interior designer a 'master of metamorphosis') in collaboration with Fettle Design (Tavolino and The Marylebone Hotel) each of the three floors will have its own distinct visual identity.

Visionary graphic designer Annie Atkins - who specialises in design for cinema and has worked alongside the likes of Wes Anderson - has been the driving force behind the visual concept, capturing the spirit of the brasserie in her own inimitable and meticulous manner.

Upon entering, guests will instantly be immersed in a sense of occasion, synonymous with the ambience associated with the roaring twenties; from the bar area with its wall of bottles that stretches up to the ceiling, guests can head beyond the piano and past the bustling dining room to The Raw Bar.

Diners can ascend the sweeping staircase to Langan’s Club lounge where those who have been invited as members will enjoy a series of regular events curated by several of London’s most well-respected tastemakers in celebration of the Arts industry.

Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, the menu will feature all of the classics one would expect from the renowned British-French brasserie.

From theatrical dishes such as beef tartare prepared at the table and spinach soufflé with anchovy sauce, to the famed Langan's fish pie and king crab croquettes, guests will delight at the diverse and contemporary menu with its nod to Langan’s culinary heritage.

A raw seafood bar will be the centrepiece of the dining experience, with a sumptuous array of fresh oysters, caviar, dressed crabs and lobster.

School friends Arricale and Hitchen, two experienced restaurateurs in their own right, bring years of hospitality expertise to the project.

Arricale’s family has always been in the restaurant trade and his personal career path has seen him work with industry stalwarts, such as Sir Richard Caring, where Arricale was Operations Director at Caring’s Birley Clubs, playing an integral role in the relaunch of Annabel’s.

James Hitchen is the founder and former Chief Executive of East Coast Concepts.

Arricale and Hitchen commented, ‘We are so proud to be bringing the new and reimagined Langan's Brasserie to London. We look forward to creating a real hub for the locals of Mayfair along with those from the worlds of fashion, art, film and music to help us bring Langan’s back to its rightful place at the centre of Mayfair.’

Since it first opened its doors, Langan’s Brasserie was about more than dinner, and more than a party. It was a place where Mick Jagger and David Bowie could share a cocktail, a hub for the well-heeled and the spirited. Now, that joie de vivre is being reimagined for a new age.
