Accor opens Ibis hotel in Heathrow today

Global hotel group, Accor has today announced the signing of a management agreement to open ibis budget London Heathrow Central.

This is the second of two former Travelodge hotels in the Heathrow market, both circa 300 bedrooms, that have moved over to Accor in the past 12 months.

This 307-bed hotel opens today, before undergoing a comprehensive renovation and redesign to the global budget brand’s latest design concept ‘reboost’, which is inspired by urban sports.

ibis budget is part of Accor’s globally renowned ibis brand family, the leading economy brand in Europe, and the hotel is the 12th ibis budget Accor has signed or opened in the UK in 2021, representing a growth of 46% for the brand.

Phillip Lassman, Vice President of Development, Accor Northern Europe, said, “We have seen an active appetite for Hotel Management Agreements as investors look to engage further with their businesses, particularly as we navigate the pandemic, and the signing of ibis budget London Heathrow Central is testament to this.”

“The evolution of the network in the UK has highlighted ibis budget as a trailblazer in the sector and we are very excited to work on this significant asset.”

Charles Scudamore, Principal & Founder, Hetherley Capital Partners, JV partners to the current landlord, said, 'We are looking forward to combining our investor knowledge with Accor's management expertise at the ibis budget London Heathrow Central, using a simple, bespoke solution to return the hotel's value to pre-pandemic levels.”

“Working with Accor we feel that, with a tight focus on profitability, we can achieve the best possible performance both in the face of current challenges and as the sector rights itself. We can offer fellow owners and investors the reassurance that will allow them to step back, assured that their assets are in the best possible hands.'

The hotel is conveniently located next to Heathrow Airport, offering easy access to terminals 1 and 3 of the UK’s largest airport as well as excellent transport links to central London.
