Compass wins big at Contract Catering Awards

Compass Group UK & Ireland has picked up five awards across several categories at the Contract Catering Awards.

The teams work hard to provide great food and services for the group's clients and customers, and the Contract Catering awards have shone a spotlight on some of the fantastic achievements of the past year.

It was a big night for Compass’ B&I division, which took home the biggest haul with three wins. Morag Freathy (pictured) was named Senior Executive of the Year for transforming Eurest and 14Forty, keeping sites running smoothly during the pandemic and putting health, wellness and sustainability at the forefront of its agenda.

Liz Forte was named winner of the Marketing Award and Wayne Corbett won the Unit Chef of the Year Award for 14Forty.

Levy UK + Ireland became the prestigious Contract Caterer of the Year, recognising its partnership approach and dedicated teams. The organisation has made the transition out of lockdown to deliver exceptional services, with a focus on sustainability and this was especially brought to life as it successfully delivered food and cleaning at COP26 in 2021.

Darren Passmore, Executive Chef at Cromwell Hospital, part of Compass’ Medirest Signature brand, won the Executive Chef of the Year Award, for delivering food that is intrinsic to patients mental and physical care.

The 10th outing of this event took place at London’s Leonardo Royal Hotel, recognising the outstanding contribution to contract catering of individuals and organisations across a range of categories.

Morag Freathy, Managing Director of Business & Industry, Compass Group UK & Ireland commented, “What a fantastic night we had at the Contract Catering Awards! I am so proud of the awards our B&I sector won, but also our wider Compass business.

We work hard to deliver great service across the board and provide innovative solutions - from sustainable menus to healthy concepts and excellent facilities management – these awards are testament to our work – a huge well done to all involved.”
