Black Sheep Coffee expands with new site in Leeds

Black Sheep Coffee has scured a new space via Savills at 97 Briggate in Leeds city centre, as the popular coffee shop brand expands its presence in the city.

Innovators in the coffee market with a focus on sustainability and ethical sourcing, Black Sheep has taken the 4,248 sq ft unit on a 15 year lease on one of the city’s prime retail streets.

The new outlet will be taking over a former Caffe Nero site and will join Black Sheep’s existing Leeds location on Bond Street.

Josh Howe, associate director, retail at Savills Leeds, comments, “Black Sheep Coffee has been a major disruptor in the UK’s coffee market in recent years and it’s great to see them now expanding in Leeds.

'Briggate is at the heart of Leeds’ retail offering, with a strong line up of retailers and a robust footfall, making it the ideal next location for Black Sheep.”

Black Sheep Coffee is the only retail coffee company in the world to serve 100% specialty grade Robusta Coffee in a market dominated by Arabica. The firm buys coffee directly at the plantations ensuring the picking, drying, and washing process adheres to the strictest of guidelines for a sustainable model that protects the environment, and everyone involved.

All its venues boast an immersive urban experience combined with music and arts and an after-work scene where coffee inspired cocktails and local spirits come together.
