081 Pizzeria to launch residency at Fitzrovia pub


This autumn, London-based Neapolitan pizzeria chef and restaurateur, Andrea Ascuiti is opening a second 081 Pizzeria, a new age Naples-inspired pizza concept specialising in authentic Neapolitan taste with a contemporary twist.

081 Pizzeria successfully launched last summer at Peckham Levels, South London’s social and cultural hub.

From 8 October, 081 Pizzeria will be taking residency at The Smugglers Tavern, a gastropub in the heart of Fitzrovia, just a short distance from the West End.

Whilst communal dining is available at 081’s site in Peckham Levels, the new location will have its own designated seating and guests will be able to book their table in advance of busy weekday evenings and weekends.

Offering 40 covers upstairs at The Smugglers Tavern, diners can enjoy pizzas such as: Diavola 2.0 - spicy Calabrian salami, nduja, San Marzano tomato DOP, fior di latte mozzarella, parmesan, andevo oil; and Parmigiana - San Marzano tomato DOP, fior di latte mozzarella, fried aubergines slow cooked in tomato sauce, parmesan, parmesan shavings and evo oil.

Signature pizzas include: Pumpkin - pumpkin cream base, nduja, Italian sausage, fior di latte mozzarella, stracciatella, parmesan, basil and evo oil

Also, there's tapas: Ontanarina- deep fried dough topped with tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, parmesan, basil, evo oil, and Courget te flower - deep fried courgette flower in tempura, filled with ricotta and smoked mozzarella served on a bed of asparagus cream.

For dessert, diners can enjoy Sweet pistachio doughnuts , Neapolitan rum baba and Nutella calzone.
