Co-Founder and Director of new pub group, Pug Pubs, Nigel Pinegar, has announced he aims to run an estate of ten pubs within three years.
The former Retail Director at Mitchells & Butlers, launched Pug Pubs in September 2013 as a joint venture with local entrepreneur, Matthew Crowther.
They opened the company’s first site Fat Pug, a Punch Taverns pub in Leamington Spa in March 2012 and their second site the Royal Pug will open this month.
Crowther said, “We wanted to have a true neighbourhood pub with a kitchen – something that bridged the gap between a gastro pub and a chain pub.” He added, 'Its very exciting to be opening a second pub in Leamington, we can hardly wait to welcome the locals back through the door”.
Pinegar said, “We’d like to get to ten pubs in three years. We’re already looking at pub number three which we’d like to have open by the end of the year – and then look at three or four openings in 2015.”
