Westbury Street Holdings acquires Searcys

Westbury Street Holdings (WSH) has purchased catering and event management company Searcys in £20m-plus deal.

WSH has purchased Searcys in its entirety and the firm will continue to operate as a single standalone entity, despite initial speculation that the business could be broken up.

Chris Maddison will stay on in his role as managing director, while WSH boss Alastair Storey will be chairman.

Searcys is one of the UK's most established catering companies and operates across a wide range of sectors within a broad range of venues including stately homes, museums,
theatres, shopping centres and restaurants.

The Gherkin's restaurant is run by Searcy (pictured) along with other bars and eateries at iconic venues like the Gin Joint at The Barbican.

WSH owns a number of companies including contract caterers BaxterStorey and Caterlink, and high street chain Benugo.
