The UK's leading independent catering provider, BaxterStorey has celebrated the graduation of students from its unique Leadership Academy during a special event held at Goodenough College in London.
Eighteen students achieved the Institute of Hospitality Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism, with over half receiving a promotion from BaxterStorey in the process.
The industry-recognised course saw Level Three and Level Four students cover subjects including health and safety, HR and food development, with Level Four students also completing a workplace project which they presented to BaxterStorey’s senior management team.
The Diploma enables half of the graduates to climb through the ranks to roles including Retail Marketing Manager, General Manager and General Catering Manager.
Graham Eveleigh, head of skills and training at BaxterStorey, said, “We are passionate about equipping our people with the skills and knowledge they need to develop a successful career in hospitality. These individuals are the future stars of our industry and it is crucial we provide them with the best possible support and development opportunities.
“In addition to their Diplomas, special prizes were awarded to students who had excelled during the programme. Jean Philipe Vidal was awarded the title of ‘Level Three Top Student’, Maja Duzowska was awarded ‘Level Four Top Student’, Sarah Brown was awarded ‘Best Level Four Portfolio’ and both Natasha Hamblin and Karoline Penteado claimed the ‘Best Level Three Portfolio’ title.”
The Leadership Academy recently achieved Approved Centre status from the Institute of Hospitality for its Foundation Course. It sits alongside a number of award-winning BaxterStorey academies including; the Chef Academy, Barista Academy, Apprentice Academy and Momentum Graduate Academy.
