Biblos launches Calypso Kitchen in Bristol

Middle Eastern and Caribbean restaurant brand, Biblos has opened a new outlet in Bristol’s vibrant Wapping Wharf development called Calypso Kitchen.

The expansion was made possible after co-owners Ariel Czaczkes and William Clarke secured a £135k funding package from NatWest and Lombard.

Biblos, which offers customers an array of fast, healthy and homemade dishes, and was favoured by Banksy for his Dismaland park.

Wapping Wharf represents a new phase of the company's development, which will enable the business to recruit additional local employees.

Calypso Kitchen boasts co-founder William Clarke's family recipes which have been handed down and refined. There are big flavours from the 24hr low and slow cooked curry goat, Jerk belly pork, bbq ribs, fish dishes, as well as vegan eats.

Clarke said, “Since securing funding, we have felt completely supported by NatWest and believe that we now have the tools to make our business an even greater success. Our mission is to open as many outlets as possible, and to bring our homemade products to as many people as we can; opening our new restaurant is a great step in the right direction.'

Each Biblos restaurant features a uniquely crafted menu inspired by the local neighbourhood, with tastes and flavours varying from restaurant to restaurant. Biblos is also renowned for catering at festivals such as Glastonbury and at Banksy’s Dismaland Bemusement Park.

As well as employing over forty people from the Bristol area, the business prioritises the use of local suppliers and seasonal produce, with the ultimate goal of giving back to the local community.
